New Years message from the CEO

New Years message from the CEO

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

2017 was an outstanding first year for Purity Fundraising with 88 % of our campaign targets smashed and our fundraisers raising over £1 million pounds for amazing causes (and a complaint rate of just 0.0001%!). It’s hard to believe an idea imagined on a wing and a prayer in a Brighton pub over the summer was made a reality in just four short weeks back in July.

When our coach Tania Akins made our first call on the 4th of August (a pledge of course) we knew we had something special on our hands. The company has grown from strength to strength with many of our clients putting more of their work with us and doubling our client roster. We now employ 50 people and are a proud Living Wage employer.

Purity may have had it’s roots in previous Brighton fundraising agencies but with the support of our incredible clients we have found the courage to create new ways of working to improve areas such as staff retention, engagement and continuity of training. We believe putting fundraisers and supporters at the heart of every decision we take is the easiest way to deliver our fundraising targets and ensure these good causes get the support they need.

We’ve learned from experience that growth should be handled carefully and as we’ve expanded we have increased our support team with Vanessa Gellard stepping in to become our new Fundraising Manager and Lawrie Lewin developing a brand-new training role that fully supports and mentors fundraisers at all stages of their fundraising career.

Purity Fundraising is the first telephone agency to offer staff shares in the business. 10% of Purity is now owned by staff which will have a positive impact on staff retention, innovation and job satisfaction – when we talk about Purity being a team effort it’s not just giving lip service to the concept; the culture is one of openness, collaboration and cooperation and every single team member has a voice.

We’ve had some fun along the way supporting good causes such as Wear It Pink, Macmillan Coffee Morning and The Clock Tower Sanctuary and our launch party was a night to remember which introduced us to the local fundraising community.

With GDPR looming we are about to start our first round of consent calling for 2018, our fundraisers have historically delivered over 80% phone opt in outperforming everyone’s expectations.

Quality driven results are what matters most to us. Our 2017 results speak for themselves and we are committed to ensuring this level of quality is maintained moving forwards. So, from everyone at Purity Fundraising

We wish you a prosperous fundraising year in 2018.
